Our current standard fee for swimmers is:

• £40/ month for a family with one swimmer
• £60/ month for a family with two swimmers
• and £80/month for a family with three swimmer

The fee should be paid by direct debit / standing order direct to the club bank accout; this allows us to avoid paying for credit card fees.

Trialists get three sessions for free. Then if they decide to join (and why would’t they) they can either wait till the beginning of a month, or pay a reduced monthly rate equivalent to £3 for each remaining session avaialable to them in that month. For example, if their are five eligible sessions remaining then that would be £15.

Members of other clubs

Swimmers who are primarily members of Birkenhead Swimming Club can swim with us for free. We have this arrangement because NSC members can also swim for free at Birkenhead sessions.

Swimmers who primarily swim at other swim clubs (eg Metro) may be eligible for a 50% reduced NSC membership fee if they can’t swim regularly with us – for example they might only be able to come to one session a week. Please discuss this with a committee member if you think it applies to you.

What if a swimmer is ill?

If a swimmer knows they won’t be able to swim for more than one month because of injury for example, then from Jan 1st 2025 we offer some reduction to membership fees. For the first month the fee remains the same. For the second month it beomes half price. And thereafter, the membership fee will be suspended entirely until the swimmer can come back. This approach recognises that the clubs costs (eg pool hire) still need to be met from a finite number of members, and also allows the swimmer to keep their place in the club ready for their return. Swim England fees

All swimmers must also pay an annual one-off Swim Engalnd membership fee in January that covers the entire year. This fee is set by Swim England at a “train” or “compete” level, and includes a contribution to National, Regional and local SE.

The 2025 fees are £43.95 for compete, and £20.75 for train.

This fee has to be paid by swimmers to NSC and then we pass it on. The fee shoudl be paid in exaclty the same as your monthly club membership fee to avoid paying for credit card fees. Whether you join NSC on the 1st January or later, this fee remains the same regardless of when in the year you join apart from a slight reduction which is avaialble for those who join in the last three months of the year.
